Welcome
Therapy can help when you're struggling with depression, anxiety, or difficult relationships. It's also for people who sense there's something more going on beneath the surface: patterns they can't quite see, feelings they don't fully understand, or ways of living that don't feel authentic or satisfying.
I practice psychodynamic therapy in San Francisco, working with adults, adolescents, and couples.
What to Expect
Psychodynamic therapy takes time. We'll explore how your past experiences shape your present life, often in ways you're not fully aware of. We'll pay attention to patterns—in your relationships, your emotional responses, even in how you relate to me in our sessions. And we'll make space for the feelings and thoughts you might usually push away.
This work isn't about following a manual or completing exercises. It's about developing a deeper understanding of yourself—your defenses, your desires, your conflicts—and discovering what becomes possible when you can face these things honestly.
How I Work
I listen carefully before I speak. I'm interested in what you say and also in what might be harder to put into words. I pay attention to culture, identity, and the specific circumstances that have shaped your life, while also being curious about the psychological patterns that cut across these differences.
Finding the right therapist matters. If we meet and you sense this isn't the right fit, I'll help you think about what you might need and where else to look.
